What is in your work-bag? Mine contains a stethoscope, baby wipes, nappies and two toy cars. In my first day back at work last year after the birth of our third child I took my lunch to work in a Lego lunchbox. If you are one of those women that is organised, and manages to pack bright, healthy lunches for their kids cut into animal shapes God bless you. I don’t know how you do it. I pack lunches for my kids that are mostly healthy, grab one of the remaining food receptacle/lunch boxes for myself and cram a few things in. I rush out the door, do my drop offs to three different locations (thank goodness next year it will be just two) and am happy if I make it to work without children’s grot on my clothes. Looking professional is a bonus. Pulling out a children’s themed lunchbox in the tea-room is one way to dissolve some of the professional credibility I do my best to nurture.
It may be a small step towards reclaiming my identity separate from my children but this year I am prepared for my return to work with a lunch box just for me. The folk at Smash kindly sent me a sample of their grown up Fashion lunch boxes and I am quite taken with mine. It is stylish, feminine, insulated, looks very much like a hand bag and doesn’t have a single super-hero, child’s name, or sporting icon on it. It is just mine. Will I also be using this on flights to make me feel a little bit more together too? Absolutely.
The kids are equally delighted with their own samples – nude food movers and light up lunch boxes. These are available in a girl and boy design. With a simple tap or shake the LED lights activate to create a disco of colour!
As well as being a frazzled, disorganized working mum I also have picky eaters. Products that make my kids enthusiastic about food and eating are a bonus.
I know other bloggers will be waxing lyrical when reviewing these products about how much money taking your lunch to work saves, or the environmental benefits of the nude food movement. Worthwhile attributes of food receptacles I know. I am just impressed that Smash has designed a product that makes me look a little more together in front of work colleagues and others that encourage my kids to eat their lunch.
Thanks to the kind folk at Smash I have a back to school pack (pictured above) to give away to one of my readers. To enter tell me in twenty five words or less, as a comment what kid item is in your own workbag or handbag. Entries close at 8pm on January 23rd 2016. Entries are open to Australian residents only aged 18 and over. The competition is a game of skill. The winner will receive a Smash back to school pack as pictured above. The winner will be announced on the Bubs on the Move Facebook Page when the giveaway is complete. The prize is not transferrable and not redeemable for cash. Bubs on the Move will have the right to use the winner’s name on social media and newsletters.
If you do want to pick up one of these lovely fashion lunch boxes yourself they are available at select Officeworks and Woolworths.

There is always crayons in my bag! I can never find a pen but I can sign a legal document in crayon.
My workbag has pieces of puzzles, lego bricks and rocks collected by my son during a treasure hunt in our local park.
I have the makings of ‘handbag fruit salad’ banana, peach etc. It’s great when the kids step or go through the bag and it becomes like mush.
Being a full time working dad – my workbag has banana peels ,sultanas and sticker sheets .
Most commonly you’ll find McDonalds Happy Meal toys……yes I clearly am a woman reliant on convenience rather than calories.
