My ten favorite images of Tropical North Queensland

In my previous post “Behind the Scenes on a Moderately Successful Travel Blog” I described how I had never taken photos before I started blogging two years ago.  One of the treasures of my travel blogging journey has been that it acts as an impetus for me to visually capture the places we live and visit.  I have limited technical no-know when it comes to photography, being more of a point and shoot sort of gal that sometimes get’s lucky.  It helps when the subject matter is spectacular.  Looking back over my photos I decided it was time just to share my favorites of beautiful Tropical North Queensland.  We lived in Cairns for five years, from 2009-2013 and left for cooler climes this time last year.  Tropical North Queensland is home to World Heritage listed rainforest and reef, with the outback just a hop skip and jump inland.  I chose these photos because they represent these elements of Tropical North Queensland and another that we loved exploring – Indigenous culture.  Have you visited Tropical North Queensland?  If not, perhaps it’s time to.  Which of these ten photos is your favorite – I’d love for you to tell me?

  1. Well I have two favourites. One is the photo of Fitzroy Island – where was that taken from? Secondly the palm leaf with rainforest leaves in the background – I love that! I use Pic Monkey to edit my photos.

    • Hi Jan – the pic of Fitzroy was from the Ferry. I love the palm leaf one too. I will have to look at Pic Monkey. Your pictures are always so lovely Jan – something to aspire too.
