The school holidays may be over but Melbourne is still pumping when it comes to memory-creating family experiences. Fortunately, I have the finger on the pulse and have some amazing prizes to giveaway to some lucky families that will encourage you to get out and enjoy Melbourne together this winter. What I love about this selection of activities is the diversity – traditional family fun, a classic art experience and modern interactive scientific learning. In total I will be sending SIX families out to do something great together in Melbourne.
Three families will be going to see Silvers Circus
Two families will be heading in to the Dinosaur Disco and Jurassic World the Exhibition
One will be heading to the NGV to see the exhibition DEGAS A New Vision
Silvers Circus
Our family has been privileged enough to see the spectacle of international circus acts that is Silvers Circus before. Silvers Circus has all the sparkle, glamour and excitement of an old world circus. What sets it apart is the calibre of the performances and performers – we were riveted to our seats for the duration of the show we saw.
I have 3 family passes to give away to see Silvers Circus either in Airport West (Wednesday 13th July – Sunday 31st of July) or Nunawading (Wednesday 3rd August-Sunday 21st August).
Jurassic Dinosaur Disco
Get your best dinosaur dance moves happening at the disco, then see how your prehistoric impression compares with the residents of Jurassic World: The Exhibition.
Guest DJ Dinosaur Dave will whip up a frenzy, playing all the dinosaur song favourites mixed in with disco greats. Learn how to move like different types of dinosaurs, and then build up your new moves to great heights in a disco fever. Join in on the extinction and bring out your best acting skills when the disco ball meteorite hits earth. Come back to life when you’re dug up as a fossil and dance your little dinosaur bones off. Then make your way into Jurassic World: The Exhibition; it’s the closest you’ll ever get to living dinosaurs!
Exhibition session times must be booked and run from 6 -7pm, but the disco is open all night!
This is a family friendly affair, best suited for ages 5 – 10 years and the big kid in all of us!
When: Saturdays in August, 6 – 8pm
Where: Lower ground, Melbourne Museum, Carlton

I have two family passes to a Jurassic Dinosaur Disco at the Melbourne Museum in August.
Degas A New Vision at the NGV and bonus Degas an Art Book for Kids
Degas a New Vision is an exhibition of one of the world’s most beloved artists, Edgar Degas. In its world premiere, Degas: A New Vision presents the largest display of Degas’ works to ever come to Australia, and forms the most comprehensive retrospective of the artist’s oeuvre in decades. Featuring more than 200 works, Degas: A New Vision reveals Degas’ talent in a new light; not only as a great master of painting, but also as a master of drawing, printmaking, sculpture and photography. This is a traditional art exhibition providing for a reflective art experience with children. As an Instagram fan I’ve been loving seeing pictures from parents that have dressed their children up as min-ballerinas to attend this exhibition – bringing an added element of interactivity to the experience. For more information on visiting this exhibition with kids have a look at the comprehensive review on Meetoo.
Degas a New Vision is on display at the NGV until September 18 September 2016 as part of the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces series. The exhibition is open daily, 10am–5pm. Tickets are on sale from ngv.vic.gov.au.
A family pass (2 parents 3 kids) to the Degas exhibition and a copy the book – Degas an Art Book for Kids (total prize value $79.95) is up for grabs in this giveaway.

I love Melbourne for it’s diversity. There’s always something to do, and always new things to see and experience. I love being a Melbournian!!
Melbourne has the Yarra Valley on the doorstep, world class arts and culture in town, and gastronomic delights hidden throughout the suburbs. Truly the bomb.
Melbourne draws people out of their daily routines to participate & be part of a diverse community. Melbourne celebrates the joy of the ordinary & extraordinary.
There’s so much happening in Melbourne, that I never noticed in my busy, pre-baby life…things I never knew existed, that my daughter loves!
Great lifestyle and space to roam, Melbourne is my happy home. It’s parks, events (both charged and free) make it the place for my family.
Thank you for the chance to get out and about with my little ones in my home town!
Tomorrow marks my 10th year in Melbourne. I’m still discovering new things to do with the kids, there is always something or somewhere to explore!
Love being close to the beach and close to the bush! And the endless opportunities for my son to play and explore outdoors..
Melbourne is great because there is always plenty to do, rain, hail or shine! There is always something new to discover, and the best things are the ones no one knows about (friends tell you).
