Cairns Festival – artwork on the Esplanade

The Cairns Festival is an annual event held during August-September.  What’s not to love about the Cairns Festival?  A pumping street parade, free-standing decorated pianos around town for my kids to bash on,  and Esplanart, a display of interactive sculpture along the Cairns Esplanade.  This is a photo of one of this year’s sculptures on display at Esplanart, “Salt Water Immigrants” by Lynnette Griffiths.   We are already missing this year’s festival and my boys are asking when the next one is coming around.
