Little Ami-Am loving the spectacle of Disney on Ice Dare to Dream

I am at the tail end of a family Asia adventure right now.  We are having an amazing time (think canoeing, tree surfing, theme parks, zoos and snorkelling).  BUT, and I acknowledge I may have spoilt my kids a tad, there has been some angst from one of my sons that they are missing Disney on Ice presents Dare to Dream – touring Australia now.  I have sent along my little sis, and  becoming regular Bubs on the Move contributor Nicki Gill and her two beautiful girls to scope out the show for those of you thinking of taking your kids along.  We love Disney, and Disney in Australia is always a winner.  Here’s what Nicki had to say about Disney on Ice presents Dare to Dream:

Many thanks to Disney on Ice presents Dare to Dream for a very special afternoon with my own little princesses today. The show translates four classic Disney films into an all singing, all (ice) dancing, lights flashing, aerial aerobic princess spectacular.  For those who like their Disney old school, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Cinderella are sure to please, whereas The Princess and the Frog’s Tiana and Rapunzel from Tangled represent the new breed.

I have never seen my children sit so still, which, in and of itself should give some indication of the success of the production. My three-year-old daughter, who is honestly much more of a trains and dinosaurs kind of girl than a pretty princess, was utterly engrossed by the on-ice goings on, confiding after the show that she was particularly taken with “Cinda-Ella”, but didn’t much like Rapunzel’s mean old mumma. And, very much not true to form, my usually wriggly fourteen-month-old sat content in my arms for the duration of the performance, applauding like a champion at the appropriate moments. I, too, was thoroughly entertained.

Heads up, for anyone planning to drive. Traffic today along Olympic Parade toward the arena’s onsite parking was heavy and extremely slow. Leave plenty of time to park and get seated before the show begins.

Dare to Dream is in Melbourne at Hisense Arena until 6th of July, and will be in Sydney at Allphones Arena, Sydney Olympic Park from the 8th – 12th of July. Tickets are available from Ticketek.
